UtilityFinder

About UtilityFinder

What Is UtilityFinder?

We're a free lookup tool that shows you every utility provider at any U.S. address. Electric, gas, water, sewer, trash, and internet — all in one search. Built for movers, homebuyers, realtors, and property managers who are tired of calling city hall and googling "who is my electric company."

Why We Built This

Moving is already stressful enough. Figuring out who provides your water, who picks up your trash, and which internet providers serve your new address shouldn't take hours of research. We built UtilityFinder because we went through this ourselves and thought: there has to be a better way. Turns out there wasn't — so we made one.

Our Data

We don't guess. UtilityFinder cross-references authoritative public datasets to match providers to your exact location:

EIA-861: U.S. Energy Information Administration electric utility service territories
HIFLD: Homeland Infrastructure Foundation-Level Data for electric and gas service area polygons
EPA SDWIS: Safe Drinking Water Information System for public water systems
FCC BDC: Broadband Data Collection for internet service availability
U.S. Census Bureau: American Community Survey for utility cost estimates
NREL: National Renewable Energy Laboratory for electric rate data

We also maintain curated municipal records for sewer and trash services across hundreds of cities.

Who We Are

UtilityFinder is a small, independent team based in Indiana. We're not a utility company — we're just people who think this information should be easy to find. Have a question or want to partner with us? Reach out at jessica@utilityfinder.com.
